These are all images of Lake Michigan north of Chicago, looking east. Each of these small works on paper was done from notebook descriptions, pen and ink drawings, notes, and lists of words in a project that explores direct observation v. memory.

They are all about the same size, 6 inches by 2.75 inches, in oil pastel on watercolor paper.
